Our Story
My wife and I started a small edible flower business in the Eastern Townships, Quebec. We sold directly to restaurants, and through that experience, we saw firsthand how hard it can be for farms to make ends meet.
Agriculture is one of the most essential industries in the world. Everyone depends on it, yet fewer farms are able to survive and thrive. Between land, equipment, labour, weather, rising costs, and uncertain demand, farming requires major investment, constant work, and a lot of risk.
That experience is what led us to start Ruteria.
We wanted to create a way for farms and rural property owners to generate additional income from the spaces they already care for, without ignoring the practical realities of hosting events on rural land. Ruteria is built to make rural event planning clearer, more realistic, and more respectful for hosts, guests, and local communities.
